  1. Heartiest congratulations, Ms Pastry Studio! :-) I can neither cook nor bake, but I am quite pleased to hear about your accomplishments. Best wishes for sky high success with your first publication!

ps: Am I misunderstanding - can this only be accessed if you are an Apple person?

  2. Thank you, VC!

This book is available for the iPad and, starting early this fall, for the Mac desktop and laptop when Apple releases their new OS X Mavervicks update. At that point, people will be able to download iBooks from iTunes and read them on their computers with all the functionality of an iPad.

The book is also available at Amazon for the Kindle and any Android tablet. They also have an app available for reading on your desktop or laptop computer. The app is free and available here:

I hope that clarifies it for you!

    1. Ms PS,
If the app for desktop/laptop is free how does that benefit your business? I have never used an app before and I have none of the techie toys you've listed (and no desire to acquire any) except for the lowly laptop, but I don't get how a 'free' app will help sales. See, you are forcing me to do a bit of techie research! ;-)

    2. Vicki, thanks for your question.

The Amazon app is free, the book is $9.99.

Electronic books were initially only viewable on devices such as the iPad and the Kindle. This app is the bit of technology that now allows people to read the book on your laptop or desktop computer instead of just a tablet. In essence, Amazon has made it easier for people without those devices to read electronic books.

    3. Okay. That helps! So I buy the book from Amazon and they provide a means for me to read it. Will check it out then!

Hope it's going well, so far! I'm no baker/pastry person, but as Carol said, it will be a big 'showing off' piece. 'Want to try this recipe from my friend, thePastryStudio's book? It looks great, and the ingredients are readily available.' :-)

    4. Thanks, Vicki. Download the app and then the book and enjoy!

  3. Saw the mention on TOD. Fantastic news and congratulations of your first of (hopefully) many publications. There can never be enough books about dessert! :-) Having tried a few of the delectable recipes on your pastry studio blog, I am definitely picking up a copy of your book for my Kindle. Congrats again!

  7. Helloooooo! :-) Just had to circle back to let you know that on 09/21, I made your "Roasted Grapes with Yogurt Honey Cream Sauce" on a whim after perusing your Global Pastry book on my Kindle--yippee for e-books!--on the train ride down from LA to Oceanside. I made the dessert for my folks, visiting siblings, and some self-professed "foodies"--friends of my brother who were also visiting at the time. It was a hit with all. I recall that my stepdad immediately wrapped up the yogurt cream sauce "for later" :-). But my bro's "foodie" friends just called him tonight to have him ask me for the recipe. Of course I sent my bro the links for your e-book to pass along. I am officially a ROCKSTAR in some foodie's opinion thanks to you. Can't wait to try the rest of the recipes in your book. They all look scrumptious; but I have to admit, the roasted grapes recipe was too intriguing not to try first. Who'd a thunk that tossing some grapes in the oven and coupling them with yougurt infused with honey and other ingredients would result in such a luscious dessert! #DessertsAreMyNirvana! Thanks again. :-)

  8. Hellooooooo PurpleShoesLA and thank you so very much for circling back! I'm so happy to hear that your family enjoyed the Roasted Grapes with Yogurt Cream. That's exactly the kind of thing I was going for with the book - simple creations without too much effort that are a bit unusual but very delicious and beautiful. I really appreciate you passing along the link to other foodies.

    You go, ROCKSTAR!!
